Wanja Murekio(Her/She)
Strategic Portfolio Manager- Old Mutual Africa Region (OMAR)
Wanja Murekio is an experienced project leader and a 2020 PMI Future Honoree. A certified PMP and Professional Scrum Master, she is currently a Strategic Portfolio Manager at Old Mutual Africa Region (OMAR) covering East Africa, West Africa and SADC. She is responsible for leading strategic projects, agile transformation and PMO Maturity. Prior to joining Old Mutual, she was a Senior Program Manager at Safaricom PLC, where she led projects delivery for 9yrs with key contribution in delivery of fintech platforms and products that facilitate over 200 billion dollars ($200B) in mobile money transactions yearly and deepen financial inclusion.
She is currently serving as a volunteer member of the PMI Standards Consensus Committee.
She is passionate about mentorship for fellow women and the youth.
