Flora Mutahi(Her/She)

Flora is a seasoned entrepreneur who enjoys sharing her journey with other entrepreneurs to help them learn from her experience so they can leapfrog their own paths as they navigate the Road Less Traveled.
Flora is the founder and CEO of Melvin Marsh International Ltd, which is the largest flavoured tea company in Kenya operating under the Melvins brand. She is the chairperson of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA). She serves as a board member in the UN Global Compact New York (UNGC), UN Global Compact Kenya and SBM Bank Kenya Limited. Flora has held previous board positions at the Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA), Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), Jubilee Insurance Ltd, Tea Board of Kenya and the Export Promotion Council.
On her entrepreneurship journey, Flora launched Melvins Tea House in 2015 with the aim of capturing the growing consumer market and making tea an out of home refreshment. She also started a real estate company that deals in rentals, property management and advisory. She also sat on the 2020 Advisory Group on Trade Finance (ATF) and made a contribution to the Reconceiving the Global Trade Finance Ecosystem between 2020 and 2021.
Her academic qualifications include an MBA from the University of Cape Town and a B.Sc. in Finance and Accounts from the United States International University (UK). Her professional qualifications include a CPA, a Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching and an Executive Marketing Diploma. She has also undertaken several training courses in business growth.
Flora is an established entrepreneur with proven visionary leadership and with the ability to grow local and international markets. She is highly skilled in business development and has a proven track record in strategic leadership. She can innovate, conceptualize and implement product and business solutions. Flora is conversant with operations in the private and public sectors. She is passionate about leading and mentoring others to achieve company and personal goals and this has seen her start the Melvins Mentorship impact program. This program offers personalized mentorship and coaching aimed at helping young ladies scale up their manufacturing businesses by sharing her experiences and networks to help them access more formal markets.
Her entrepreneurship efforts have paid off severally and have seen her and her company, Melvin Marsh International Ltd win awards such as the Top 100 FiRe Award for financial reporting and most promising entrepreneur, among others.
Flora loves to unwind from her day by travelling, reading, learning and playing golf.
